To understand the Select Personnel Group’s
philosophy, one needs to understand the founders. Brenda
O’Dell, founding partner and Certified
Employment Specialist (CES), began her career in Corporate Recruiting
after graduating from the University of Houston. She worked for
a Houston based Personnel Firm for nine years and was part of that
firm’s national expansion effort. She held positions for that
firm in Houston and Los Angeles.
Brenda’s “global experience” in
that first nine years led her to found one of the first “boutique”
personnel firms in the Houston Marketplace. Motivated by her desire
to “put the person back in personnel” she and her partner,
Connie Broussard, saw an opportunity (and a need) to serve
clients and applicants alike who were tired of the “people
mill mentality” of many staffing services.
Connie Broussard’s vision was to make
the Select Personnel Group an extension of Human Resource Departments
of Corporations throughout the Houston area. She recognized that
new technologies and the restructuring of business organizations
were changing the way companies conducted business and, as a result,
changing their personnel needs.
Connie & Brenda never lost sight of the importance of establishing
and maintaining the personalized service which Select Personnel
has become known to offer their clients.
